Next month's Hekima- Woman to Woman Mentoring meeting has been scheduled!
As we approach the third month of the year, there are some who can say they have stuck to the goals they set in January. While the rest of us… maybe not so much.
What gets in the way? Is it our thinking? Is it our tribe? Or is it what seems to hang in the air? You know, like a thick cloud that hovers and threatens to produce a downpour at any moment.
Well, let’s get together and discuss strategies for an emotional spring cleaning. Let’s discover ways to clear the air and our minds of negative energy and unrelenting thoughts that get in the way of achieving goals. Just like we would our homes, it’s time to get out the “broom” and sweep away all that hinders us!
Let’s look at how practicing self-care can help us achieve emotional wholeness. Bring a pen and paper, a friend, money to buy a drink from Public Works Coffee House, and please don’t forget your smile!
Often, what we learn comes from what others are willing to share. Whether the information benefits us emotionally, physically, or spiritually... Our well-being and healing is a group effort. Each one, reach one. Each one, teach one. Pass it on!

So, the saying these days is "The future is female." Actually, that has always been the case.
Years ago, while studying attachment theories, I was struck with how important the mother's treatment of the child was to that child and to how that child then relates to others. Propped bottles rather than holding and making eye contact has a lasting impact, I would say.
These days, I realize how that child navigates the world starts while still in the womb. In fact, it starts in the grandmother's womb (let that sink in). How we perceive and respond to circumstances is closely connected to the environment of the womb.
What was our mother dealing with? Poverty? Racism? Sexism? What did her daily life consist of? Did she feel loved? Accepted? Honored? Was she supported in welcoming a new life... you? What was her relationship like with her mother? With your father? Was she more excited than afraid to become a mother?
In planning an upcoming event and learning about the long term impact of womb wellness, I'm dealing with a range of emotions... Anger. Guilt. Fear. And even some contentment.
There is a saying, "We do better when we know better." But let's be honest; sometimes we keep on doing the same and then feel guilty for not making the necessary changes. Ex. diet and exercise.
How we relate in our intimate relationships starts in the womb. Healed mothers and the ability to provide healing mothering, starts before conception. This can change the legacy and course of our families.
Save the date: Reclaiming Eden coming to Las Vegas July 26th. It will be for women dealing with infertility, those who have a family history of abuse and trauma, those who have been disconnected from their birth mother (emotionally or physically), for those who are living post hysterectomy and other reproductive surgeries, the newly pregnant, have had previous problematic pregnancies, and for those who are living post abortion.
Healed wombs, heal relationships. Healed relationships, heal communities.
