About Cherise

With 30 years-experience in the field of social services, and 21 years dedicated to the area of mental health; My Oasis of Hope Consulting founder, Cherise Young, has coached individuals, families, church groups and professionals to: improve their level of functioning, achieve emotional well-being and enhance their communication skills. Cherise assists and equips all she meets to live in, with and on purpose.

In addition to offering consultation and coaching, Cherise shares messages to community groups encouraging listeners to enjoy their relationships in the home, the workplace, and the community at large. Focused on designing a culture of expectant hope, Cherise and Oasis of Hope Coaching and Consulting encourages all to move forward in power and truth.

Cherise received her B.S. in Psychology from Florida A. and M. University, where she minored in African American Studies. Later, she received a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary (IN).  In 2016, hoping to enhance her skills and assist organizations, Cherise completed studies at Point Loma Nazarene University (CA) and earned a M.A. degree in Organizational Leadership. To add to her knowledge base, Cherise completed eCornell’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Certification Program 2020.

Over the years, Cherise has served in a variety of community roles such as: facilitator, program director, advisory board leader, trainer and conference speaker. If she isn’t planning the next Hekima gathering, she is spending as much time as possible with her daughter and granddaughter, Candace and Aevrie. Cherise hopes to positively impact others to create and recreate their own oasis of hope and bloom wherever they may find themselves!
