Sunday Sunrise

Sundays, a time for a reboot

A relaunch, a rebirth of sorts

Of sorting out what to keep

What to leave behind

The Sun is rising

With both Moon and a Star still on the scene

Each becoming more distant,

The Moon and Star

As the Sun moves in to be seen

The evidence of the Sun is there

Before it has fully arrived

Like a pregnant woman who waddles and grows

The Sun is coming and even the Moon and Star knows

The clouds serve as a mirror

Of the glory yet to be revealed

An audience for radiance

For brilliance and grace

Many will pass by, seemingly unaware

The birds fly expecting Its routine arrival

Roosters in the distance beg us to witness

Its appearance

THIS is the day the Lord has made

He made It and He made me

Powerlines can’t ruin It

Street traffic can’t drown It out

Moon and Star fade

As It peeks and peaks to the East

The birds come to perch

Like me, they wait and wonder

Are they ending or beginning their day?

The casino lights have dimmed now

All seeming to realize

Compared to the Sun

They are no match

THIS is a day the Lord has made

Now it’s up to us to, it’s up to me to

Rejoice and Bloom!
